Alfed Cahill was an Immortal faced by Duncan MacLeod in Paris in 1993.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Alfred Cahill was born in 1959 in London, England.[1] His father was an abusived preacher who used to beat him as a kid. Cahill whacked his father and joined the RAF, which trained him as an SAS Commando. He saw action in Iraq and the Falklands[2] and became a "war hero."[1] Soon after, the RAF discharged him when he failed a psychological exam.[2] He drifted to Paris, where he got a job as security guard at the Templar House,[1] His mental breakdown was partially the end result of years of abuse from his father, the final trauma that pushed him over the edge was his own death and revival as an Immortal.[2]
Facing MacLeod[]
In 1993, Cahill was talking to a prostitute, Claudine. When she doubted what he said, he became angry and hit her. A general fight broke out, and he beat his way through the crowd to her. When he said he was going to correct her 'nasty attitude' and raised a fist, she stabbed him.[2]
Cahill staggered away from the club and through the streets of Paris, finally dying in front of a Crusader museum, at which time he was spotted and followed by Duncan MacLeod. Cahill awoke, pulled the knife from his chest and proclaimed it a miracle. Duncan MacLeod stepped up and tried to explain to him what he was and what had happened. Despite MacLeod's attempt to explain to him about Immortality and The Game, Cahill believed that he had reborn as an avenging angel set out by God to rid the world of sin, and left MacLeod behind.[2]

Cahill then began a killing spree, murdering Claudine, her pimp's driver, and a prostitute's client. Duncan began to investigate the murders and realized the next victim would be Elaine Trent, a call girl who had been Tessa Noël's college friend, since the man murdered had been her client.[2]
MacLeod tried to persuade her to leave Paris, but her pimp, Dominique Battini, interfered. They had an argument which resulted in Battini lying on the floor while Duncan took Elaine to his barge. In an attempt to kill Elaine at her apartment, Cahill ended up meeting and killing Battini. MacLeod confronted him, but Cahill sought refuge in the museum where he had died. There he waited for MacLeod who soon found him. Cahill had dressed himself as a Crusader.[2]
MacLeod and Cahill fight it out
Unwilling to accept MacLeod's help, Cahill believed he could not be killed, not knowing the rules and limitations of his immortality, and challenged MacLeod. He soon lost his head.[2]
Personality[]
Obsessive and manic, his transition to immortality caused a psychotic break in an all ready boarder line personality.[2]
Fighting Style[]
In his fight with MacLeod, Cahill used three weapons: a crusader’s axe, mace and small sword. Although trained in martial arts as an SAS commando, he had no training at all as a swordsman, and never got the chance.[2]
Trivia[]
Martin Kemp is one of several musicians to play Immortals in the Highlander universe. He played bass in the band Spandau Ballet which was fronted by his older brother, Gary Kemp, guitarist, keyboards, and songwriter.
