Connie Richland, born in 1791 in Washington, England.  Her adoptive father, Sir Lewis Richland, financed the early 19th Century  British excavations in Egypt for the British Museum. Interested in archaeology, she worked along with her father until 1818 when she died during an expedition to the Valley of the Kings when a tunnel collapsed and buried her with three other workers.

She was found and taught by Carlo Baldoni, her father's archaeologist. In the male-dominated world of archaeology, Richland made a name for herself at the beginning of the 20th Century.

From 1942 to 1945 Richland's assigned Watcher was Jane Owen. The newly recruited Watcher took over the relatively quiet living immortal, so her previous Watcher, older and more experienced could be reassigned. After the Second World War, Richland headed her own expedition to Egypt, where in 1949,  she uncovered near the grave chamber of Smenkhkare an untouched treasure room.

In the last years of her life, Richland was based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In October 1993, she made another expedition into the Valley of the Kings. On 13 October she had just uncovered the entrance to the tomb of Pharaoh Seti I's wives, her find went unfinished, however, as she was challenged and defeated by the young Immortal, Keith Boyer. The Quickening collapsed the tunnel and buried Richland's corpse at the entrance of the grave chamber.
