The Magyar native Kern was born in 1396 in Szolnok, Hungary, he became an evil man who committed atrocities in his native land. He became Immortal at the age of 45 when he and a band of raiders raided a village outside Buda, he soon meets his mentor Imer Horvath who teaches him about his Immortality.
Civil War.EditAt some point in the 1800's, Kern moved to the United States. When the American civil war broke out, Kern enlisted and fought alongside with the Confederates. After the war, he became a scout for the US Army. In 1870, Kern was a mercenary scout who led a US Army unit which attacked a Sioux Village and killed everyone. Kern took scalps of the dead Indians. That same day while riding in the woods, Kern comes across an Immortal who looked like a Sioux Indian however, it was Duncan MacLeod. Duncan (thinking that it was Connor) sees Kern and tells him to stand where he is. Kern tells him that he is not looking for a fight and sits with him while having a drink of coffee. Kern tells MacLeod about the assault he led on the village earlier, Duncan is shocked and doesn't believe Kern till he realizes that he isn't lying and a fight ensues. Duncan manages to throw Kern off him, and then steals Kern's horse. Duncan arrives to see his home (he was living in the village) destroyed and his tribe dead including his Indian lover, Little Deer and his adopted son, Kahani. Connor MacLeod finds Duncan mourning his loss and helps attend the dead. Afterwards, in a fit of rage and anger, Duncan goes to look for and kill Kern but doesn't find him and gives up on his search for vengeance.
Line of Fire.Edit
In later years Kern became a serial killer and rapist. Later in the late 1980's Kern became a biker. In the year 1994, Kern rode into Seacouver. It was then that he encounters Duncan again Duncan who is with Richie tells him to run while he fights Kern. Kern charges at Duncan on his bike but misses. The two Immortals fight, Duncan uses all his anger and rage in the fight. The fight stops when the two crash into a church and interrupting a wedding ceremony. The two men retreat vowing to finish what they started. Days later, Kern returns to the church and enters the confession booth where he tells father Matthew about his crimes over the past five hundred years, he then grabs hold of Mathew and demands to know where Duncan MacLeod is. When Matthew tells him that he doesn't know where MacLeod lives, Kern lets him go and leave but not before stealing the offertory and telling the priest that he also stole. Kern meets Donna and her baby and tries to threaten to hurt Jeremy unless she tells him where MacLeod is but stops when he sees two cops at a distance and lets them go.
Duncan meets Kern on top of a roof and the two men fight with Duncan using an Indian spear against Kern's US Calvary Sabre and Bowie knife. After a cut across the stomach, Duncan chants something and musters all his rage as he gains momentum against Kern and finally stabs the evil one in the stomach before finally beheading him with the spear riding the world of the evil Kern.
Kern was a very evil man. His watcher Keith Marks once regarded him as "AN ANIMAL". He was all basic instinct, eat, drink, burn, pillage. He was a ruthless and brutal murderer and rapist who took pleasure in making others suffer. Though never explicitly explored, Kern was perhaps a Bigoted racist as seen when he remarks about Duncan pretending to de Injin.
