Under cover of a Gypsy tinker, Remi was the Watcher assigned to the Rom Immortal,Jacob Galati in 1833. When Jacob married the Immortal, Irena, his assignment was expanded to cover her as well. In 1847,Duncan MacLeod joined the Galatis and Remi watched him as well until his departure in 1878, when Remi followed, eventually to take up another assignemet; Imre Romani whom he watched until his death in 1867, keeping his pledge to 'die as a Watcher and a Gypsy.'
His skills included metalwork, jeweler, and fortune telling as well as the languages Romany, French and basic German.
